My name is Bill Earl. I know, that doesn’t tell you much. Very quickly: I’m a physical chemist with a PhD from Berkeley. I spent over 40 years working as a chemist or managing chemists. My last job was 30 years at Los Alamos National Lab. At one point, the Lab was downsizing and offered me a fantastic deal, if I’d retire. I did so and retired at about age 62. My wife, Jary, died almost 6 years ago. Since that time I’ve taken up exploring and overlanding. I spent almost a year, July 2024 to June 2025, in Australia just touring and overlanding.
At this point, October 2026, I’m trying to learn how to make the blog work. I’ll start with recent travels and I plan to add some of my older trips as I get more proficient.
